In the Academy together with the other departments, the department of “International Relations” is also functioning. The Department of “International Relations” organizes to create relations with foreign countries’ universities, international educational centers, funds and etc., prepares documents which make official these relations, also organizes realizing signing agreements. Agreements of Collaborations are signed with Helwan University, Arabian State of Egypt, Berlin University of Art, Federal Republic of Germany, Moscow State academic Institute named Surikhov, Russia, Sankt-Petersburg State Academic Painting, Sculpture, Architecture Institute named Repin, Russia, Mimar Sinan Fine Art University, Turkey Republic. The Department of “International Relations” has great role to create relations with Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Islamic Republic of Iran, and Republic of Latvia. The Department also has good relationships with the embassies which situated in Azerbaijan, for example, The Embassy of U.S.A, The Embassy of Great Britain etc. The Department of “International Relations” organizes exhibitions with the participating of Azerbaijanian and foreign students. This department also organizes master classes, symposiums, international exhibitions and receives guests from foreign countries. Exhibitions are organized with the embassies of U.S.A., Israel, Germany, Egypt, and Great Britain in Baku. At the same time our department organizes the practice for the students of the Academy in the foreign countries. It creates the conditions for developing their worldview. Foreign citizens must take the ability exams in their country and have amounted the certain scores. After having passed and collect the certain scores the citizens of foreign countries can choose the specializations of Academy by their choice.

The foreign students must study at the preliminary course for the period 1 year. At the “Preliminary course” are worked on the tasks which are appropriate to the entrance exams. They work on the painting, drawing and composition. at the drawing they work with gypsum head, in painting – with the still life, on the compositions with the task, corresponding to chosen specializations. Then they passed the exams they start to study at the bachelor degree.

Foreign students- from Russia, Turkey, Egypt, Iran, Germany, Northern Cyprus, and Afghanistan- have been studying at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Art since this academy was formed. During these years foreign students actively participated in various international exhibitions, symposiums and were rewarded prizes.

Foreign students, who want to enter to the academy, have to finish preliminary course and get certificate. After this they can enter to the academy.
